Marko Zaror Joins Cast of Machete Kills

International martial arts action star Marko Zaror joins the cast of Rick Schwartz produced and Robert Rodriguez directed Machete Kills, the sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s cult favorite Machete. Zaror joins Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, and many others in an all-star ensemble. Zaror, dubbed the Bruce Lee of Latin America, is cast very literally as Zaror, henchman to Mel Gibson’s villainous character.

Rodriguez explains, “I created this role specifically for him. He is an incredible martial artist with physics defying speed and agility, and he has a great movie star presence. I’m sure we’ll be working together again soon.”

Zaror was equally complementary. “To get a chance to work with Robert Rodriguez was a dream of mine since I saw El Mariachi. He has made some of the coolest characters ever. I am honored to have had the experience to work with him and his exceptional team.”

Vanessa Hudgens Joins Machete Kills Cast

Rick Schwartz produced and Robert Rodriguez directed Machete Kills already has one amazing cast list.  Now add Venessa Hudgens to the roster of talented and sexy women appearing in the film: Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Alexa Vega, Michaelle Rodriguez, and the Avellan twins.

Venessa will be playing the character Cereza.  We’re not sure yet of the size of the role, but it has been speculated she may be part of Vergara’s character’s team of assassins.  Hopefully we’ll soon see a character poster similar to the recent releases of Lady Gaga and William Sadler.

The list of men cast in the film isn’t too shabby either.  In addition to Danny Trejo playing the iconic Machete, the film includes Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Damien Bachir, Edward James Olmos, Cuba Gooding, Jr. and William Sadler.

 

Avellan Twins Back for Machete Kills

Variety reports that Robert Rodriguez’s twin nieces, Electra and Elise Avellan, are set to reprise their roles in Machete Kills, produced by Rick Schwartz and others.

The Avellan sisters will once again be playing bad-ass nurses Mona and Lisa. They join fellow femme fatales Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Amber Heard and Sofia Vergara.  The film also stars Danny Trejo and features roles by Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Edward James Olmos, and more.

A Quick Draw production, “Machete Kills” is being financed by Alexander Rodnyansky, who is producing with Rodriguez.  In addition to Rick Schwartz, other producers include Quick Draw’s Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic, as well as Sergei Bespalov.

Sofia Vergara Celebrates 40th Birthday after Wrapping Machete Kills

After wrapping her role in Robert Rodriguez’s sequel “Machete Kills,” produced by Rick Schwartz, Sofia Vergara headed to Mexico to celebrate her 40th birthday, jetting out to an exclusive resort with on-again boyfriend Nick Loeb, as reported in this article appearing July 6th in the New York Post.

Friends invited to join the “Modern Family” star include Eva Longoria and Jessica Alba. Sources tell us Vergara’s romance with Loeb is “100 percent back on” following their brief split in May. One said, “They have been seeing a lot of each other and seem very happy. They have been traveling a lot and have talked through a lot of the issues which led to their split.” Vergara was spotted yesterday visiting the Fort of San Miguel in San Francisco de Campeche, in southeast Mexico.

The Robert Rodriguez directed and Rick Schwartz produced Machete Kills also stars Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Zoe Saldana, Alba and Amber Heard.

Edward James Olmos joins cast of Machete Kills

Casting rumors have been rampant regarding the Rick Schwartz produced and Robert Rodriguez directed Machete Kills, sequel to the cult classic Machete.  The Portugese site Omelette reports today that Edward James Olmos is joining the cast, which already includes Mel Gibson, Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Demian Bichir and Danny Trejo.

Poster Art Released for Machete Kills

Early Poster Art for Machete Kills, produced by Rick Schwartz, was released just prior to the Cannes film festival.  

Sofia Vergara, Mel Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Demian Bichir, and of course Danny Trejo all star in Robert Rodriguez’s sequel which will be distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Machete Kills finds the titular ex-federale (Danny Trejo) recruited by the U.S. government to stop a terrorist named Mendez the Madman, who happens to be Mexico’s leading cartel dealer. Mel Gibson is set to co-star as Luther Voz, a cunning arms dealer and death merchant who aims to spread war across the planet by launching a missile.

Extras needed for ‘Machete Kills’ in Austin, TX

Last Saturday Beth Sepko Casting held an Open Casting looking for extras to appear in the follow up to Robert Rodriguez’ Machete.  Machete Kills, produced by Rick Schwartz, will be filmed at Austin Studios in Austin, TX this summer. The movie’s all-star cast includes Amber Heard, Mel Gibson, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, and Sofía Vergara.

If you missed the casting call, it’s not too late to apply. According to Beth Sepko Casting’s Facebook page, “if you were not able to make it to the open call, you can email thirdcoastextras@gmail.com with your height, weight, contact number, resume (if available), and photos. Zoe Saldana Joins Cast of Machete Kills

Danny Trejo, star of the Rick Schwartz produced Machete Kills, revealed that Zoe Saldana is joining the cast of the film in a recent interview with Moviehole, an online film blog:

“Trejo, noting that the film kicks off into about three weeks, says ‘The sequel to Machete, Machete Kills, is going to be a lot more over-the-top than Machete. We’ve got Sofia Vergara, who is a star in her own right, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, and Zoe Saldana – and guess what? I get to kiss all of ’em.’

Machete Kills is a Quick Draw production financed by Alexander Rodnyansky, as well as Aaron Kaufman, Iliana Nikolic, Sergei Bespalov and Rick Schwartz.

The film is a sequel to the cult classic Machete.  Danny Trejo’s ‘Machete’ character originates from the 2001 Spy Kids film, written and directed by Robert Rodriguez. The film is an expansion of a fake trailer that was released together with Rodriguez’s and Quentin Tarantino‘s 2007 Grindhouse.

‘Modern Family’ actress Sofia Vergara joins the cast of ‘Machete Kills’

“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara is in talks to add yet more sizzle to the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete Kills,” a Quick Draw production financed by Alexander Rodnyansky, as well as Aaron Kaufman, Iliana Nikolic, Sergei Bespalov and Rick Schwartz.

Vergara joins a stellar cast which already features her fellow femme fatales Jessica Alba, Amber Heard and Michelle Rodriguez.
